Description Acidif 90 Tablets
aci d if
Food supplement based on L-methionine and concentrated dry extract of Canadian cranberry with high titration of proanthocyanidins.Helps promote correct functionality; of the urinary tract, creating unfavorable conditions for bacterial development and proliferation. It comes in retard tablets with gradual release and with a gastroprotective coating. There ò optimizes tolerability; and guarantees a constant release of its components over time.
L-Methionine
It is part of the essential amino acids and, as such, è an important constituent of the human organism. L-Methionine, which our body does not have; capable of producing, but must be introduced from the outside, è the only essential amino acid that contains sulfur in its formula. Availability of L-Methionine (as a sulfur donor) in quantities sufficient, è the necessary condition for the biosynthesis of cysteine, a sulfur amino acid. A large number of Gram-negative bacteria is able to alkalize the urine by enzymatic degradation of urea, thus determining; favorable growth conditions. The maintenance of a physiological pH obtained by the action of L-methionine, manages to create unfavorable conditions for bacterial colonization.
Cranberry
Studies recent have focused on the antibacterial effects of Canadian cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon - cranberry) aimed at adhesiveness; of some bacteria to the urinary epithelium. Women suffering from recurrent urinary infections appear to be particularly sensitive to the adhesion of uropathogenic bacteria. The uropathogenic strains rely on the adhesion of type P fimbriae to allow colonization and the related infectious process. According to these studies, cranberry proanthocyanidins prevent the adhesion of type P fimbriae of uropathogenic E. coli strains.
