UrgoTul
Indications
Slightly exuding acute and chronic lesions in the granulation or re-epithelization phase.
• Healing in a humid environment.
• Atraumatic and painless removal.
• Stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts.
• Very flexible.
UrgoTul is indicated for the treatment of acute lesions (burns, dermabrasions, traumatic wounds, post-operative wounds, etc.) and chronic lesions (venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers) in the epithelialization or granulation phase and for the treatment of lesions from epidermolysis bullosa.
UrgoTul is available in packs containing individually divided sterile dressings, ready for use.
Composition< br/>UrgoTul is a non-adhesive, non-occlusive and non-adherent lipid-colloidal dressing to the lesion, made up of a polyester weave impregnated with hydrocolloid particles (Carboxymethylcellulose CMC) and vaseline.
Mode of sterilization
Radio-sterilization.
Properties
Lipido-Colloidal Technology (TLC) is a healing and gelling matrix, an exclusive and patented innovation from Urgo Laboratories.
Its specificity is depends on the polymeric matrix which guarantees the cohesion between the hydrocolloid particles and the vaseline in a polyester mesh.
In contact with the lesion exudate, the hydrocolloid particles (CMC) gel and form, in association with the matrix , a lipid-colloidal film that allows:
• maintaining a moist environment favorable for healing;
• the stimulation of fibroblast proliferation.
UrgoTul is of greasy composition, without being greasy to the touch.
It does not stick or to the injury, nor to the surrounding skin.
Removing the dressing is easy. painless for the patient and atraumatic for the tissues in the regeneration phase.
Instructions for use
Lesion preparation
• Clean the lesion with a saline solution. If an antiseptic is used first, rinse the wound carefully with saline before applying UrgoTul.
• Dry the surrounding skin carefully.
• UrgoTul can be cut using sterile scissors to adapt the dressing to the wound.
Application of the dressing
• Remove the protective flaps and apply UrgoTul to the lesion.
• Cover UrgoTul with a secondary dressing and secure with an appropriate bandage.
• Apply a compression bandage if it is been prescribed.
Replacing the dressing
• Change the dressing every 2-4 days (every 1-3 days for patients with epidermolysis bullosa). UrgoTul can be left in situ for up to 7 days depending on the evolution of the lesion.
Precautions
• The sterile protection must be intact before use. Do not use if sterile protection is in place. damaged.
• If clinical signs of local infection are observed, treatment may be possible. replace with an antibacterial dressing (UrgoTul Ag/Silver, UrgoCell Ag), according to medical advice.
• In case of deep lesions or fistulas, a part of the UrgoTul dressing must be left visible to allow for simple removal.
• Disposable single packs: reusing a disposable dressing could expose you to the risk of infection.
• Do not sterilize again.
