Although usually indicated with the term & ldquo; t è & rdquo;, Rooibos does not come from Camellia sinensis n é is of Asian origin.Its history is; in fact linked to another continent; Africa, or rather, a small region in South Africa, the only place where the plant from which it derives grows, which looks like a broom-like bush with thin, needle-like leaves.
The drink, called Rooibos (which in Afrikaans means & ldquo; red bush & rdquo;) or t è African red, obtained by infusing the chopped leaves, oxidized and dried. The result is; a drink with a brownish red color and a sweet and nutty taste, reminiscent of mallow and hibiscus.
Modalit à to use
Leave to infuse for at least 5 minutes in boiling water.
You can ò consume in purity, thanks to its intrinsic sweetness, or, following the use made of it in South Africa, adding milk and sugar or, alternatively, honey and a slice of lemon.
