Physiological Solution 0.9% NaCl

Medical device - Disposable sterile saline solution for washing of wounds, sores, abrasions, burns.

Suitable for

• irrigation and washing during surgical operations;
• for moistening dressings , fabrics and clothes;
• for cleaning and rinsing bladder catheters, stomas, instruments and equipment;
• for filling breathing air humidifiers.

Ingredients
1,000 ml of solution contain: sodium chloride in water ppi 9.00 g; electrolytes (mmol/l): Na+ 154, Cl- 154.

How to use
The quantity of solution to be used varies depending on the case.

Warnings
Not for injection.
Avoid exposing the product to direct sunlight.
Overdose during wound irrigation and application intra-operatively can lead to absorption of the irrigation solution which in turn can cause hypervolemia in the form of hypotonic hyperhydration (hyponatremia).
Headache, nausea, restlessness and disorientation are symptoms of hyperhydration.
In severe cases yes may have states similar to coma.
Interventions in case of overdose: interruption of irrigation, correction of the hydroelectrolyte balance depending on the particular clinical situation.
Do not use for infusions.
Use only if the seal is intact and the solution is clear.
Store in closed containers; residual quantities must be eliminated.
The reuse of disposable devices creates a potential risk for both the patient and the operator.
It may cause contamination and/or reduction of the functionality of the device, which may result in injuries , illness or death of the patient.
Keep out of reach of children.
Where there is a risk of absorption of large quantities of solution, as in the case of use in large cavities or on large lesions, do not use on patients in a hyperhydrated state.
In such situations, it should be used with caution in patients with:
– hypertonic dehydration;
– hypokalemia;
– hypernatremia;
– hyperchloremia;
– disorders in which a limited sodium intake is indicated, for example heart failure, generalized edema, pulmonary edema, hypertension, eclampsia, severe renal failure.
NaCl 0.9% B. Braun must not be used for intrathecal irrigation.

Storage method
Store between -25°C and +55°C, with humidity between 10% and 90%.
Validity with intact packaging: 36 months.
