Md-Small Joints
Medical device useful for improving the mobility of small joints (such as those of the hand, foot and of the ankle), whose primary therapeutic treatment consists of the following functions:
1. Barrier effect.
2. Lubricant activity.
3. Mechanical support in case of pharmacological therapy in progress.
The use of MD-SMALL JOINTS is recommended by qualified healthcare personnel, in private or public healthcare facilities for:
- to improve the mobility of the small joints of the hand, foot and ankle ;
- promote muscle relaxation;
- support muscle structures;
- relieve localized pain and that caused by joint movement.
How to use< /strong>
MD-SMALL JOINTS can be used alone or can be associated with other medical devices belonging to the same line, in order to guarantee a personalized treatment based on the individual clinical picture.
In cases where requires supportive treatment when acute pain occurs, MD-SMALL JOINTS can be associated with MD-NEURAL, MD-POLY and MD-MUSCLE (one or more of these).
Furthermore, in cases where a tissue matrix support therapy or an action of slowing down physiological aging, MD-SMALL JOINTS can be associated with MD-MATRIX and MD-TISSUE.
Therapeutic protocol:
1 treatment per week for 10 consecutive weeks.
Method of administration by periarticular injection (the area of application must be aseptic; introduce the needle to a depth of 2-4 mm).
For this use of the medical device, the use of the following materials and accessories is recommended:
• Material to ensure skin asepsis : disposable glove, iodine-based solution, alcoholic solution, sterile gauze, ethyl chloride-based skin spray.
• Needles: 27 G sterile.
• Syringes: 5 or 10 cc, according to the quantity of solution to be injected.
Method of administration by intra-articular injection.
For this use of the medical device, the use of the following materials and accessories is recommended:
• Equipment to ensure skin asepsis: disposable glove, iodine-based solution, alcoholic solution, sterile gauze, ethyl chloride-based skin spray. The application of a local anesthetic on the treated skin is recommended.
• Needles: sterile 22 G.
• Syringes: 5 or 10 cc, according to the quantity of solution to be injected.< /p>
Intra-articular ankle treatment:
The foot joints can be treated by intra-articular injections.
This treatment is also applicable to the tibio-tarsal joint. For medial or lateral application, flex the foot approximately 45 degrees.
- Medial application: introduce a 22 G needle approximately 4 cm proximal and lateral to the distal portion of the medial malleolus. The tendon of the flexor hallucis longus muscle is located immediately lateral to this point. Direct the needle at 45 degrees posteriorly, slightly upwards and then laterally.
- Lateral application: introduce a 22 G needle approximately 1 cm proximal and medial to the medial aspect and distal tip of the lateral malleolus . The needle should be oriented 45 degrees posteriorly, slightly upwards.
Components
Collagen of porcine origin.
Excipients: Purple, NaCl, water for injection.
Warnings
Disposable use.
No case of hypersensitivity to MD-SMALL JOINTS has been reported.
Contains collagen of porcine animal origin.
Patients with proven hypersensitivity to the component or excipients must first undergo an injection test in the arm and be kept under observation for one hour.
Pain in the hands, feet and small joints require differential diagnosis with primary neuralgia, post-traumatic pain, pain secondary to recent or previous bone fractures.
A slight redness in the injection area may be due to the mechanical effect of the injection. ™needle or a skin reaction.
The application could cause symptoms of burning/pain in the of injection, which generally resolve within 5-10 minutes from the end of the treatment.
Skin cleaning/disinfection is necessary before and after application.
Any pyogenic bacteria could produce abscesses in the area of the injection. ™injection.

Do not use after expiry.
Use the product immediately after opening.
Do not use if broken or tampered with of the seal.
After opening, the contents of the vial must be injected immediately.
