Honey Manuka IAA10 + MGO 400 Min
The prof. Peter Molan of the University of Waikato in New Zealand, following numerous studies, has highlighted that some Manuka honeys have an additional activity not due to hydrogen peroxide and which maintains its effectiveness in vivo: the antibacterial activity non-peroxide.
The UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) and IAA (Activity Index and Antibacterique / Antibacterial Activity Index) indices measure the unique non-peroxidic activity of Manuka honey, through laboratory analysis of each batch with respect to activity on a resistant antibiotic bacterium: golden staphylococcus (Staphylococcus aureus). Oxal MethylGlio is one of the molecules responsible for the activity of some types of Manuka honey, but it is not the only one. In fact, there is a synergy of several factors that create the non-peroxide activity in manuka honey, and methylglyoxal is just one of them.
The MGO rate does not guarantee the bactericidal efficacy of honey, it only indicates the content of a substance.
