Macrostip

Medical device based on Macrogol 4,000 indicated for the treatment of chronic constipation; treatment of fecal impaction; treatment of constipation with episodic or chronic colic.
Product with a laxative action which, thanks to the osmotic mechanism, regulates intestinal functions. It is not absorbed, noré ferments in the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the feces in an unchanged form. In fact, thanks to his affinity for water Macrostip sachets soften the stool, facilitating evacuation. Its action does not reduce over time.

Ingredients
A 10 g sachet of powder contains Macrogol 4.000 10 g.

Without lactose, gluten, preservatives, flavourings.

Mode of use
Adults, elderly and children aged 12 and over: 1 full dose sachet (10 g) 1-3 times a day. Open the sachet along the dotted line and dilute the contents in 125 ml (approximately 1 glass of non-carbonated water). In case of prolonged use it can be reduce the dose to 1-2 sachets per day.
Children from 7 to 11 years: half a sachet (5 g) twice a day. Dilute the contents in 62.5 ml (about half a glass of still water).
Children from 3 to 6 years: half a sachet (5 g) once a day. Dilute the contents in 62.5 ml (about half a glass of still water).
Dissolve the contents in a glass of water (125 ml). Drink the solution like this reconstituted. È It is possible to divide the daily dose into several administrations. It is recommended to take Macrostip sachets between meals.

Warnings
Do not take in case of hypersensitivity known to raw materials, gastrointestinal perforation and/or obstruction, known gastric or intestinal lesions, serious inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
È It is advisable that the intake of the product is separated by at least 2 hours from that of drugs administered orally as it is the osmotic power of macrogol and the increase in speed induced gastrointestinal transit can negatively affect their action. However, consult your doctor before taking Macrostip sachets if you are undergoing other therapies. Macrostip sachets can potentially interact if used with starch-based food thickeners. The ingredient macrogol counteracts the thickening effect of starch, thus liquefying preparations that must remain dense for people with swallowing problems.
While taking it, side effects such as indigestion, stomach pain or rumbling, bloating, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, anal irritation and light diarrhea may occur. These are effects that improve by reducing the dose. In case of allergic reactions, stop taking it and contact your doctor. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking the product. Use in children under 12 years of age should preferably take place under medical supervision. Do not use Macrostip sachets for longer for 30 consecutive days, if symptoms persist consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use in case of damaged packaging. The treatment of fecal impaction requires the intervention of a preventive opinion from the doctor.

Storage
Store the device tightly closed, in a cool, dry place, protected from light and heat.
