To treat vaginitis, vaginismus, dyspaurenia, pain during sexual intercourse, vaginal problems after chemotherapy or radiotherapy, after childbirth, lichen sclerosis.

Dilators are medical devices for vaginal dilation, in silicone. A concave opening facilitates introduction, without the need for leverage with an applicator. Generally they are of different diameters, to facilitate progressive exercise. The smallest ones are the size of a finger. The different colors of the dilators make it easy to identify the size in use and are equipped with a convenient nylon case for storing them.

Instructions for use
Starting from the smallest size, the vaginal dilator is introduced into the vagina and remains there for several minutes. It is recommended to gradually move up to the next size when the vaginal muscles are more relaxed. The introduction can be carried out standing or with one leg positioned for example on a chair.

The exercise should be repeated daily, unless otherwise advised by the doctor.
There are no time limits for application. If no symptoms occur during or after the introduction of the larger dilator, sexual intercourse can be attempted.

Dilators are indicated for use by people with vaginal problems during sexual intercourse, often caused by:
– Vaginismus
– Dyspareunia
– Following surgical operations
– After childbirth

1. Before using the vaginal dilator, we recommend washing the device well with warm water and neutral soap.
2. It is important to find a position that allows you to easily open your legs. Insertion can be carried out while lying on your back. with bent knees or standing, placing one leg on a chair.
3. Lubricate the vaginal entrance with the lubricant contained in the set.
4. It is advisable to breathe calmly and insert the dilator to a depth that does not cause discomfort.
5. Leave the device in the vagina for a few minutes.
6. Move the dilator up and down and switch to a rotating motion to gently dilate the vaginal tissue.
7. The dilation exercises can be interrupted by removing the dilator from the vagina and remaining stretched out and relaxed for a few minutes.

Advice on self-dilation:
It is not easy to think of the self-dilation method ™self-dilation given that vaginismus could be caused precisely by fear or the impossibility of inserting something into the vagina.
Consequently, the idea of vaginal dilators could cause anxiety.

There is absolutely no reason to feel different from other women. Self-treatment can be seen as a journey during which you will learn to know your own body. The first step to overcoming vaginismus is to start changing your or your partner's attitude towards sex. Starting to have a free attitude towards sex compared to the conditioning of the surrounding society will help you to consider vaginismus as something you can manage and cure without external pressure.

Learning about vaginal dilators: dilators allow to gently widen the vagina without pain.  How does gradual vaginal dilation work? We start by inserting a first very small dilator. Once you have become able to insert the vaginal dilator comfortably, you gradually move on to a larger size, until you can insert a speculum or a dilator the size of a penis without pain.
