Farmactive Alginate

Farmactive Alginate is a sterile dressing of calcium alginate with carboxymethyl cellulose in a tablet or tape form.
It is used to treat moderately to heavily exuding skin lesions such as bedsores, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, skin graft sites and wounds from trauma.
The alginate dressing in contact with the wound exudate forms a soft biocompatible gel that maintains an optimal moist microenvironment for healing.
The exchange between exudate and dressing transforms the alginate into a soft gel that can be be removed easily without leaving residues.
The dressing is soft and conformable to provide maximum comfort for the patient.
