Epitact Corrective Orthosis Hallux Valgus Night S

INDICATIONS:

Wear the EPITACT® corrective night orthosis daily. helps correct the deformation and limit the evolution of hallux valgus. It helps relieve night-time joint pain and eliminates contact pain.

USE TIPS:

• First, check that the big toe can still move laterally when you manipulate it. Otherwise, do not use this device.

• The orthosis can be thermoformed either on the right or left foot.

THERMOFORMING:

Follow the thermoforming instructions provided. The corrective night orthosis can be thermoformed more times. If necessary, consult a podiatrist.

POSITIONING:

• Insert the forefoot into the large strap.

• Then insert your big toe into the small sleeve.

• Make sure the white target is located at the level of the “onion” (see the diagram in the thermoforming instructions provided). 

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE:

• During the first 3 applications, it is recommended to wear the orthosis for only 2 hours.

• During subsequent uses, wear the orthosis all night. During the first uses it is you may experience joint pain. If these persist for longer than 7 nights, contact your doctor.

• After using the orthosis for a month and without pain, you will be A second thermoforming can be performed to increase the correction (see thermoforming instructions provided). The desired correction will be therefore obtained without the retractor, but by pulling the big toe laterally (see the diagram alongside).

MAINTENANCE:

• Machine wash at 40 °C in the net provided or by hand (do not rub).

• Leave to dry naturally. Do not iron. Do not expose to heat (>50 °C).

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Big toe not movable laterally.

• Do not use the product during the day.

• Do not apply on unprotected lesions.

• Do not use in case of diabetes, arteritis, polyneuritis, neuropathy of the lower limbs or ulcers.

COMPOSITION:

20% silicone, 28% polyamide /elastane, 52% thermoformable plastic.

How to choose the size?

Measure the circumference of the foot below the hallux valgus (" onion"). See the diagram.

If you have doubts between 2 sizes, choose the largest size. small.
