Dressing that combines the benefits deriving from hydrocolloid technology with the effectiveness of the exclusive Hydrofiber® Technology for the management of serum-blood exudate.
Aquacel® Surgical is a sterile surgical wound dressing made up of 3 layers:
The internal pad, to be placed in direct contact with the suture line, is made of non-woven fabric containing Hydrofiber® Technology. Thanks to its peculiar texture, the Hydrofiber® pad micro-conforms to the suture line and, if present, absorbs the exudate vertically, retaining it and gelling instantly. This exudate management process guarantees the optimal environment necessary for the tissue repair process and prevents the risk of maceration of the periincisional skin and sutures.
The hydrocolloid component allows sustained adhesion to the periwound skin, also guaranteeing the flexibility necessary to minimize the risk of dislocation or detachment of the dressing during movements, ensuring greater comfort for the patient.
The external protective polyurethane film is waterproof and provides an effective antibacterial and viral barrier (if kept intact).
