Dietary Mineral Feed For Dairy Cows

Oral calcium supplement to reduce the risk of milk fever in dairy cows. milk at delivery (post-partum hypocalcemia). Bovikalc can also be used as a supplement after successful treatment of milk fever with injectable calcium.
After administration of Bovikalc the bolus completely disintegrates within 30 minutes. Calcium chloride dissolves quickly in the rumen, while calcium sulfate dissolves only after being degraded by the rumen microflora, thus providing a sustained release of calcium.

Components
Calcium chloride, calcium sulphate, monoglycerides and diglycerides of fatty acids esterified with acetic acid.

Analytical content: Calcium 22.2%; Humidity 32.0%.

Each bolus contains 43 g of calcium, of which 71% comes from calcium chloride and 29% from calcium sulphate.
Bovikalc does not contain sodium, phosphorus or magnesium.

How to use
Use in dairy cows at risk of developing milk fever, in particular high production cows and cows with a history of milk fever .

Instructions for using the applicator: insert the flat end of the bolus into the applicator so that the rounded end enters the animal's mouth first.
Contain the animal with the head extended. Keep your neck straight and your head up. Do not use restraint systems that are too coercive such as immobilization of the tongue or twisting of the head, etc.
Carefully insert the applicator loaded with a bolus of Bovikalc into the mouth of the animal and guide it over the back of the tongue.
When the animal begins to swallow, release the bolus. Remove the applicator. Do not use force as this could damage the animalâ € ™ s throat.

Recommended protocol:
- First bolus: at the first signs of calving.
- Second bolus: immediately after birth. delivery.
- Third bolus: 12-24 hours after delivery.
- Fourth bolus: 24-48 hours after delivery.

Minimum protocol:
- First bolus: immediately after calving.
- Second bolus: 12-24 hours after calving.

For cows after calcium injection, administer two boluses:
- First bolus: 2-3 hours after calcium injection.
- Second bolus: 12-15 hours later.

Warnings
It is recommended to ask nutritional expert advice prior to use.
Do not administer Bovikalc to cows with clinical signs of milk fever as the swallowing reflex may be impaired. Do not administer Bovikalc to cows on the ground (puerperal collapse).
If the bolus lining is damaged or peels off, do not administer the bolus.
