The packaging of all the tabs is made up of completely and solely from paper, while the inner shell is coated with a thin film of polylactic acid (PLA).
Also known as â € œbioplasticâ €, PLA is a completely natural material, as a derivative from the transformation of the sugars present in corn, beet, sugar cane and other natural and renewable materials (and not der ivati from petroleum, unlike traditional plastics). This bioplastic is biodegradable and compostable, therefore it degrades rapidly in the soil once the necessary temperature and humidity conditions present in composting plants are reached. In fact, it only takes about 50 days in the composting center for this bioplastic to transform into soil and fertilizer for the soil. The virtuous cycle ends like this: waste quickly becomes a useful and natural resource.
