AQUACEL Ag+ Extr is a sterile antimicrobial dressing for infected or infection-prone wounds, composed of Hydrofiber technology  (soft hydrocolloid fibers of pure sodium carboxymethylcellulose) and Ag+ Technology (ionic silver, EDTA and benzethonium chloride).

AQUACEL Ag+ Extra is composed of 2 layers of Hydrofiber Technology sewn together, which makes it 9 times more resistant and 50% more durable absorbent of the standard version of AQUACE Ag.

This dressing is designed to manage the 3 main barriers to healing: exudate, infection and biofilm.
Ag+ Technology represents a unique formulation containing anti-biofilm silver which:

• Eliminates the slimy protective layer of the biofilm produced by bacteria.
• Kills a wide range of bacteria, including those resistant to antibiotics thanks to its silver reservoir.
• Prevents the reformation of the biofilm.

Hydrofiber Technology helps create an ideal environment for wound healing by optimizing the healing capabilities of the wound. of Ag+ Technology:

• Traps exudate, bacteria and biofilm, minimizing the risk of infections and preventing maceration.
