Algiste Dressing With Calcium Alginate 10x10cm 10 Pieces

ALGISITE M is a sterile calcium alginate-based dressing made up of an absorbent tablet of 100% non-woven calcium alginate fibres, the structure of which minimizes the detachment of the fibers themselves and increases the cohesion strength of the dressing.
The Soft, natural material conforms to the wound bed and promotes a moist wound environment. Minimizes trauma to the wound and patient upon removal; easy removal and in one piece.
Suitable for partial and full thickness lesions, with moderate to high exudate, even tending to minor bleeding, such as: decubitus ulcers, leg ulcers, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers , oncological lesions, burns. It can be used in association with compression therapy in leg ulcers, where indicated. It facilitates the control of haemostasis in case of slight bleeding.
The dressing has a high capacity of absorption and effectively retains fluids even under compression. The hydrophilic fibers absorb up to 10 times their weight and retain exudate, preventing leaks. It is easily applied thanks to its softness and high conformability. and is easily removed in one piece thanks to its structure designed to reduce the risk of fiber release.
Minimizes trauma to the wound and pain on removal for the patient.
The dressing can be cut to conform the dressing to the wound bed.
The product does not contain resins and natural rubbers (latex) which represent an allergenic potential.
It does not contain phthalates.

Mode instructions for use
Read the instructions for use carefully before use.
The dressing, in contact with the wound:
1. absorbs exudate vertically while controlling horizontal dispersion to prevent episodes of maceration of the periwound skin;
2. It gels quickly, forming and maintaining a moist environment on the lesion that promotes healing. In particular, when ALGISITE™ M absorbs the exudate present at the wound site, the sodium ions of the exudate replace the calcium ions in the alginate which transforms into a soft gel that conforms to the wound bed.

The average duration of application varies from 1 to 7 days, depending on the conditions of the dressing. The frequency of dressing changes depends on the condition and nature of the wound. Typically, in heavily exuding or infected wounds, the dressing should be changed daily, decreasing to twice a week as healing progresses.

Components
Dressing hydrophilic non-woven fabric of 100% calcium alginate fibers in plate and ribbon format, with a high content of mannuronic acid which provides resistance, with a ratio of no less than 2:1 between mannuronic acid and guluronic acid.
Minimum percentage of calcium present.

Warnings
Do not use on patients with a known allergy to alginates.
Single use: do not reuse.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 25°C.
Validity with intact packaging: 60 months.
